Authenticity is one of the most significant elements of answering the call of the soul. The soul is not in pursuit of perfection or conformity, it is in pursuit of truth. This fact is individual. What is comfortable to one individual does not necessarily sound with the other. Hence, we can not outsource the inward process of listening. It entails individual interaction, sincerity, and self-discipline.
The authenticity is frequently about being complex. Humans do not exist as they are dynamic in nature. The wants, principles and objectives that used to represent an individual can transform. This evolution is manifested in the call of the soul. It can drive a person to creative expression following years in an organized career, or to simplicity following an ambitious life. These changes are not indications of inconsistency, but of development.
Fear is a very familiar friend of this path. The unknown is not necessarily easy and the effects of change are not always foreseeable. Failure, rejection or loss is a possibility. Nevertheless, the danger of not acting on the call exists, as well. In the long run, the inability to listen to inner voice can result in a feeling of disconnection not only with themselves, but with others and life in general. Such disidentification can be in the form of indifference, remorse, or that you are living a life that is not your own.
On the other hand, answering the voice of the soul, even in minor aspects, may lead to a feeling of life and meaning. There is no need of dramatic, instant changes. It can start with small things: or finding a hobby one had lost, or delimiting, or giving oneself a rest. These decisions, albeit being minor, indicate a change of direction- to an outward validation instead of having an inward alignment.
The relationships are also involved. Our association with people can either facilitate or impede our contact with soul. Places that promote openness, curiosity and authenticity are more conducive to listening inward. In contrast, conformity or judgment environments may bring about resistance. Being able to identify these influences is a significant measure of ensuring alignment.
Also, we may add that the silent appeal of the soul is not necessarily pleasant and comfortable. It does not always lead people to comfort or direct contentment. Rather, it leads them to development and reality, which can be in the form of difficulty and struggle. Take the example of having to be disciplined, sacrifice, and have strength to follow something meaningful. Nevertheless, the fulfillment that comes with alignment usually overrides these challenges.
The idea of purpose is closely connected with the calling of the soul. Although purpose can be described in terms of career or achievement, it can be viewed as a sense of direction or purpose in a broader way. The call of soul is not necessarily toward one, definite purpose, but more to a way of being, a way that suits the values and nature of the soul. This alignment can take different forms, depending on the individual.
Notably, the call of the soul does not have to be discovered somewhere far away. It already exists. It is not in finding it, but in hearing it. This difference changes the emphasis to external searching to internal awareness. It implies that we do not find the answers we want outside of us but within.
Pure light and infinite love be with us!
