Light in Spirituality: The Pure Light Beyond Form(part two)

The Inner Light

It is the finding of the inner light which is stressed in many spiritual ways. This is what does not have to be created, it is what has to be uncovered. The inner light is covered with layers of conditioning, fear, trauma, and false identity, which covers the sun with clouds. Spiritual practice entails not getting something but eliminating what is untrue.

Meditation, prayer, contemplation and mindful living are some ways of silence of the mind and letting the inner light to shine through. Awareness will automatically be manifested when the mind is still. As in such stillness, individuals tend to complain of a sense of warmth, extension, and soft luminosity. These experiences are not the end to achieve but are the indications that attention is being drawn to the deeper truth.

It is claimed that the inner light is typically related to conscience, intuition, and compassion. When one does what they do because of the inner light, they will be more likely to be doing it out of clarity and not fear, and out of love and not control. This is the reason why spiritual maturity is at times not seen in supernatural powers, but in humility, kind nature, and wisdom.

Light and Shadow and the Deusion of Division.

Separation is one of the main lessons learned by spirituality, as it is just an illusion. Although the world seems to be divided into separate things and creatures, Pure Light shows that there is a unity behind all these things. And as waves grow out of a single ocean, so are all the forms out of one.

The feeling of being an independent self, a “me” that is not part of the rest of the world is interpreted as a creation of the mind. This construct serves well in the world but is the cause of anguish when confused with ultimate reality. This illusion is not destroyed by Pure Light, but put in its context.

There is less solid identity in the presence of Pure Light. One is still a person, however there is no immediate necessity to protect, compare or compete. Compassion is an instinct, since it is painful to hurt another person as it is painful to hurt oneself. Love ceases being a commercial act, it turns into a state of existence.

Light, Love, and Truth

Pure Light can not be separated with love and truth. These three are commonly used in spiritual language to mean the same thing. Light is the revelation of truth; truth sets free; the freedom is manifested in love.

Love in this context does not only mean a feeling or a bond. It is the appreciation of unity. Love is left when the illusion of separation falls. This is a love that goes unconditional not that it views harm as non-existent but it looks beyond it. It realizes the fact that ignorance is the cause of misery, not evil. Truth, also, is not conception of beliefs or doctrines. It is direct seeing. Pure Light enlightens reality and evaporates imaginaryity. This may be not easy, because it usually challenges much-cherished identities and stories. And this agony is a part of the process of waking up. The more illusions are removed, the more there is clarity.

Bright and Clean of Change.

Spiritual transformation is said to be a process of darkness to light. But this dark is not that, it is unconsciousness, it is mechanical existence, it is identification with thought. With the increase in awareness, life becomes purposeful, colorful and meaningful.

Pure Light changes not through coercion, but coexists. It never struggles with the ego; it uncovers it. It does not repress pain; it throws light on it, and it cures. That is why spiritual development usually takes into consideration confronting the shadows. Light never refutes the dark, it assimilates it.

With time, the perception changes drastically through a life that follows Pure Light. The problems are regarded as challenges not as threats. The sense of loss represents change as opposed to failure. Even death is no longer regarded as the final point, but as a going back to the beginning.

Death and the Return to Light

Most spiritual customs state that upon death the individual consciousness comes back to Pure Light. Lots of near-death experiences include the reports of being moved through the darkness to the radiant, loving light. Although these interpretations differ, there seems to be some truth in the uniformity of these stories, being archetypal.

Spiritually, death is not destruction, but disintegration of form. The body goes back to the matter, the personality dies, but the essence, the light of awareness, is there. In this regards, Pure Light is our origin and our destiny.

This knowledge can change the lifestyle. Fear goes down and gratitude goes up when life is perceived as a momentary manifestation of an immortal light. Every moment is something special, not that it should be grasped, but that it is making a statement of something eternal.

Life as an Enactment of Pure Light.

Spirituality is not supposed to be abstract. The theory of Pure Light is actually realized in everyday life. The way of speaking, listening, working and relating are mirrors of inner awareness.

Living as a Pure Light expression does not imply a cessation of the world. Instead, it tends to result in even greater engagement, but with less attachment and more presence. Actions are more purposeful, relations are more genuine, and problems are more worthwhile.

It is an uncomplicated, upright, and caring lifestyle. It is not after perfection but reality. Errors are perceived as learning points and not as factors to blame oneself. Life is an ongoing exercise of coming back to consciousness.

The Immortal Company of Light.

Pure Light does not occur just in mystical experiences only. It is omnipresent even when not realized. Rain, the intervals between sentences, the sense of good nature–they are manifestations exactly of the same reality.

The spiritual journey is not the accomplishment of some far off destination but the acknowledgement of the ever present. Pure Light does not come, but is uncovered. It is not different; our connection with it is.

Ultimately, Pure Light is not a notion that one should be able to conceive but a fact that one ought to experience. It is the mute in all experiences, the sweet company which overcomes every other thing, and which still remains in our presence. Not to know it is to have it, but to attain some kind of transparency to it, to permit life to pass through it without any counteraction.

And in that clarity one finds out that the light which one has been seeking has been the light which one has been.

Pure light and infinite love be with us!
